วันที่ 1 ตุลาคม 2546 คณะอนุกรรมการสถาบันประจำมหาวิทยาลัย
(อ.ก.ม.) เห็นชอบให้จัดตั้ง คณะใหม่ คือคณะวิทยาการจัดการและสารสนเทศศาสตร์ (ชื่อเดิมของคณะบริหารธุรกิจ เศรษฐศาสตร์และการสื่อสาร) โดยแยกออกจากคณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์เดิม

1. Plan A type A1 is only a Thesis for which at least 36 credits are required. Students may choose to study non-credit courses
2. Plan A type A2 requires students to earn at least 18 credits. The thesis carries12 credits, and the elective courses 6 credits each which total at least 36 credits.
3. Plan B is an independent-study where students study for at least 3 credits, but not over 6 credits

3. Minimum 1 year of work experience after the Bachelor's degree, or as approved by the curriculum committee

- Applicants who cannot meet the minimum score of the above can apply to the program. If candidates have progressed in English competency but cannot meet the minimum score mentioned above, the candidate's status can be sustained for one more semester (2 semsters in total). A candidate must submit the required score to the university before graduation.
